FAMILY FIRST QUEENSLAND CANDIDATES 2009

Sally Vincent - Murrumba

Sally Vincent was born on the Gold Coast and has spent most of her adult life in Brisbane, completing high school at Aspley State High and attending the University of Qld where she attained an Arts degree.

Subsequently, Sally also studied externally for 9 years while working as a bookkeeper to attain her Accountancy Degree. Over the last 15 years, Sally has been contracted to various small business entities to provide financial and administrative management. As a result, she is acutely aware of the difficulties faced by small business, especially in regards to staffing, financing and cash flow management.

Sally re-married in 2003 and now has a blended family of 6 children, ranging in ages from 5 to 19. She is teaching them all the ethics of hard work and honesty and believes it would be helpful if all schools had courses in ethics.

In her spare time (which is very rare), Sally enjoys table tennis, having played it for many years (and recently spent a year as secretary of the Redcliffe Association). She also enjoys Facebook and playing drums (especially with her children who are learning musical instruments).

Sally would like to represent the electorate of Murrumba because she believes she can attain positive outcomes for the people of this area, such as the long-awaited rail link from Petrie to Kippa-Ring (with completion by 2013). Residing in Mango Hill, Sally believes that the construction of the rail link will not only stimulate the economy during construction, but will provide many beneficial outcomes for the businesses, tertiary education campuses and residents of the Murrumba electorate. Other public transport issues also need to be addressed, including the efficient timetabling of buses and train (working together!).

Sally represents her values-based party, Family First, and is proud of their stance with regard to issues of life. Please peruse the core value set on the Family First web site, as well as an important document about “Keeping our Democracy Alive” which outlines the importance of fully utilizing the preferential voting system to send a message to the major parties about what is important to you. In the face of tragedy or economic disaster, what is always most important to people? Their family.

Sally cares more about solving problems for people than speaking political double-talk. She believes we live in a society with an economy and not the other way around.

A vote for Sally Vincent is a vote for accountability and transparency in government and a vote for a positive voice for a great developing region of Queensland.

You can contact Sally on 0416 185 787. Sally's How to Vote Card is available here.
